My girls are very fortunate; between gifts from Santa, friends and our whole family their play-room in the basement looked like a tornado had ripped through a toy store. We had old toys strewn across the floor. New toys were stacked, waiting to be opened. And random piles of trash from the few toys that had already been opened. It was in serious need of a deep clean and some organization.
I ordered the Tot Tutors Kids’ Toy Storage Organizer with 12 Plastic Bins from Amazon for $55 to help organize all of the play food and kitchen items that we have. My girls love their play kitchen and food and we were gifted several play sets to add to our kitchen. This was the particular area that I wanted to focus on organizing.
The playroom fully organized and cleaned. Now they actually have space to play and dance.
The Tot organizer is filled with all of the play food which is set up like a grocery store.
Under the stairs is the toy box that prevents the kitchen from falling over. They also use this nook as a hiding spot.
All go the games and puzzles are stored in the armoire. The two drawers are filled with all our craft supplies and coloring books.
Our cleanup took just about an hour. We picked out a few toys that we no longer use which will be donated. We also were able to fill a trash bag with trash. For me, being able to get rid of things that are no longer needed and having everything have a place to live in an neat and tidy system is very calming.
Now don’t get me wrong, my girls will have this room back to mayhem in no time at all. I’m hopeful though that the open storage system will make it that much easier for them both to clean up at the end of the day.
