Here’s how to make a super easy DIY ornament that is personalized and perfect for the grand-parents.
I purchased clear glass ornaments from Walmart (We used them for several crafts) and added red paint on the inside. I left them upside-down on an egg carton overnight so all excess paint would drip out.
With each child taking a turn, I painted their entire hand white. We used acrylic paint from Michael’s craft store.
Set the ornaments in the palm of their hand, the very carefully have them close their hand wrapping the fingers around the ornament without rubbing them.
We let the ornaments sit in their tray overnight to dry completely.
They each painted faces on the individual finger print, making five little snowman. We did not add any paint to the palm section of the print. Once dry again, I added string to complete the ornament.
The girls had a great time having me paint their hands and then painting their own little snowman. Each one make two ornaments, that way we can give Grandma and Nana a hand print from both girls for Christmas.
This would be the perfect project to make year after year watching their hand prints grow and the snowman resemblance getting better and better.
With the extra ornaments, I placed both my high school and college tassels in the ornament leaving the string used to tie around the cap as the ornament hanger. FINALLY found the perfect way to show them off. They have been sitting in a picture box for a long time.
