My youngest daughter attends pre-school and there are so many great teachers that rotate throughout the day. I needed a personalized and thoughtful yet affordable gift that we could hand out to everyone.
I saw this painted mug idea on Pinterest and knew it would be the perfect way to achieve our goal.
White mugs – World Market or the Dollar Tree
Sharpie Oil Based Paint Pens – Amazon
Letter Stickers – Dollar Tree or Craft store
Place the letter on the mug so its the focal point of the mug.
Then take complimentary colors, and tap lightly little dots all around the letter. The closer to the letter the more concentrated the dots should be, and the further away the more spread out.
Once you are happy with your dots and colors. Carefully peel away the letter sticker to reveal a blank or white space among all the dots.
Bake the mugs in a 350° oven for 30 minutes. Leaving the mugs in the oven, turn oven off and let the mugs cool completely. This process cures the paint so it will not wash off.
WARNING: You need to ventilate your kitchen really well.
To go with their personalized coffee mugs, we are also giving them Dunkin Donuts Gift Cards and a few Lindt Chocolates.
The girls helped filled the mugs with all the goodies.
Each coffee mug was wrapped in white tissue paper and placed in a red gift bag.
The girls are excited to hand out their DIY gifts to all the wonderful teachers in their lives!
